Export ImageObject as CMYK

I am looking to create a dotScreen effect via ImageObject and export that as CMYK to be printed. Is there a workflow to achieve this using existing API?

I can see there’s an unmerged PR https://github.com/typemytype/drawbot/pull/554 — wonder if there are any plans on integrating this and if not, what is the blocker here?
